All the reminiscing over my old earphone remote, and the way I was able to control it with gesture like taps, reminds me of the impressive looking Project Soli from Google.
Soli is a new sensing technology that uses miniature radar to detect touchless gesture interactions.
The above gif and all the videos and animations on the site are by Ottica and really help explain the technology and potential. Take some time on the site. Man I would love to have a play with all this.
In turn, this further thought on gestures reminds me of Desmond Morris and The Human Animal from 1994. I think the series had a big effect on me as a kid, realising for the fist time the intricacies of sociology and anthropology. Worth a watch I think.
