I’ve been looking to streamline my writing and note taking apps and came across Ulysses for Mac and iOS. After umming and ahhing about the cost, I finally went for it, downloaded, opened up, and began to click around to try and figure it out. After a quick little while I realised there was maybe more to learn, and so went back to the first demo page, the first paragraph of which says:
Nice to see you here! By now you’ve probably skipped this introduction and manically clicked on what few buttons are visible on screen. That’s alright, let it out.
So good. That tiny awareness of how people really use apps and ignore instructions at first has boosted my confidence in the app.
