Idiocracy

Less eloquent or sophisticated than Wall E from Personal Parable #7 perhaps, but there’s a part in Idiocracy from two years earlier that expresses a similar future fear for humanity: 

Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.   

These movies remind me that I want to reread The Shallows.
