How Complex Systems Fail

Rereading this 1998 PDF from Richard I. Cook, MD of the Cognitive technologies Laboratory at the University of Chicago, which Jamie shared with me earlier this year. I read it again as I thought it might relate to thoughts about how different cultures and countries approach road rules and driving. Didn’t relate as much as I thought it might, but still worth another read. I didn’t realise it was written in 1998 until searching for the link now. Crazy to think it was written one year before I started my professional career. Wish I had read and understood back then how well it relates to, well, pretty much everything. Would have saved a lot of time and error / lesson learning over the past 17 years.
